June 15TH pictures

Teddy Roosevelt NP
The Bad Lands area

1 of many Bison

Highway 94 from the Park

Part of the wild horse herd

This guy was visiting the saddle horses

The Little Missouri River. The flood waters are starting to go down. The water went well into the grass area

Some more of the big guys.

They can really run.

Another wild horse just doing his thing.

This was a shot at sunset. The rock really lit up.

Same sun set with a small rainbow.

Driving across Highway 2 we saw a lot of these little showers

A lot of farm fields looked like this.

Don't know when the next post will be as we will be saying Hello Canada and goodbye Internet and cell phone service

June 15TH

We are now in Shelby Montana. Tomorrow we are heading to Canada if the wind dies down. It's howling pretty good right now. We have been having really bad Internet service. When our ATT air card  contract is up it is goodbye ATT.

Adding some pics I was not able to add earlier.
There are 3 white buffalo in this pic. The one is standing in the open the 2nd is just behind the bush and the 3rd is the light spot to the right of the black buffalos.

Carol was looking to see if this is a boy statue or a girl statue. It is a boy.
This guy was at the campground we stayed at. We dropped some pellets down the chute and it was snacking away.

Rush hour traffic in North Dakota.

Will try to add some picks from Teddy R. NP. My Internet comes and goes.

June 11 2011

I did come across something I thought was different. Some of you may think it is morbid but I kind of think it's neat. If you notice they are both still alive.

We are now in Medora North Dakota. The traffic here is terrible.

We were at the visitor center of Teddy Roosevelt National Park and saw some of the Bad Land area of the park. Tomorrow we are touring The south section of the park

June 11 2011

Had started the blog the other day and lost the Internet. We met up with Larry and Carol and this morning we are heading to Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota. Will post tonight if I can get on again. I know when we reach Canada on the 19TH that my Internet will be gone. So far the weather has been a little goofy. Started out with the A/C running the first night and needed the heat the 2nd night. Time to clean up and move on.

April 6, 2011

We are back in Illinois. Will be home tomorrow. Just thought I would post some shots of the fabulous camp sites we had on the way home. This is not a parking lot but a camp ground.
This one wasn't much better.

We are trying to find out whether it is a state or a Federal law that all camp grounds that are overnight spots have to have train tracks very close by. One last parting picture until June when we start our Canada trip.

April 5 2011

Time to do some catch-up posting.

Since spring was starting in AZ the flowers and the cactus were in bloom.

We had a Birthday celebration for Donna

We got to meet Dwight and Donna's daughter Liz. Had a fun time with her.

My shirt tells it all.

Got some great pictures of the Gila River.

Yes this is the river. Back in the 30's they built a Dam and this is how it looks now.

Had a good time at the Four Peaks Brewery. Liz had never been to a Brew Pub as they don't have any in
Sylvan Lake, Alberta Canada. They gave us a brewery tour and even bought us a beer.

No matter how long Dot laid in the sun she just couldn't get a tan.

Carol always had to have her BIG OL' CUP of Coffee.

One last night on the road and we will be home. Another really grand trip.

April 4 2011

We purchased a new Garmin GPS System and Garmin wants everyone to log on to there site and get the latest updates for the maps. The download took over 24 hours. In the process it used all of the 5 gigs that my air card allows so we were without Internet for 2 weeks. We finally got back on yesterday. We are now on our way home. We are in Clinton OK right now. When we got up this morning the trailer was really rocking and rolling. There were wind gusts at 40 mph. Towing a gigantic shoe box down a very windy road is no fun so we just sat were we are. I will post some more pics at a later date as I ran out of storage space.
